Why did I invite Nicoletta Gualdi?
Half a life spent together, with two studios, one right next to the other, has inevitably lead to our unique and different works influencing each other. Each, somehow, benefitting and learning from the development of the other. Nicoletta Gualdi’s recent work in porcelain is about the uniqueness of each piece, giving each object a singularity, an individual personality, built with imagination and playfulness.

Invited Artist
Nicoletta Gualdi is an italian ceramist based in Rome. Since 1994 she has a pottery studio where besides her own practice she runs ceramic workshops and collaborates with other artists. In her works she alternates the use of the traditional italian maiolica with the use of porcelain. She follows two main themes: on one side colorful geometric shapes and patterns; on the other forms inspired by nature in which she directly uses natural elements to create her pieces.
