Why did I invite Lovisa Stephenson?
Lovisa Stephenson’s bronze sculpture had a material affinity with my current work in photography. The images in the exhibit are a series of silver gelatin photographic prints which have been toned to change the black and white tones to a wide variety of blues, bronzes and silver.
Our subjects are also both figurative. Lovisa uses bronze and I use silver and chemicals, one heavy the other light as paper.
