Re:collection

My practice is currently focused on the exploration of the romanticization of nostalgia. I tend to look back on the past through a rose-colored lens. By creating art, I attempt to resolve my habit of doing so. It is freeing to be able to feel through art making. Through painting, drawing, digital art, printmaking, fibers, and ceramics, I express my appreciation of the past, reconcile with my emotions, and convey gratitude to those who mean the most to me. This collection of works is representative of my growth at Tyler and learning to appreciate the past, while still living in the present. Art is a form of healing that I am eternally thankful for.
