Partly Cloudy Press
Desperate for respite from the constant need to be online -- I created this piece as an ironic commentary on our leisure spaces being invaded by work. This work offers its viewers "something else to stare at;" however, the real-life buzzy nature of this high contrast piece defeats the entire point, just like staring at more screens for relaxation from our screens.
"SOMETHING TO STARE AT THAT ISN'T YOUR SCREEN," 2020, Screenprint on fabric, 144" X 36"

There is no such thing as a perfect story; every time we tell it, something changes. Narratives can be shared and interpreted in millions of different ways based on our own life experiences, knowledge, and attitudes -- my practice plays with the tension between what we hear, understand, and project into the world. In as few words as possible, how can I pinpoint an experience? With a strong interest in narrative and research, I cultivate my practice often using high contrast, text-based prose.
