Lesson Plan #1: Moe Brooker Musical Art Lesson

This lesson introduces students to the Philadelphia born artist, Moe Brooker. Students will observe abstract art and think about how music and sound can be represented visually. Students will listen to 6 different jazz songs while creating abstract art inspired by Moe Brooker. As they listen to the music they will add color, texture, pattern, and a variety of marks that reflect the energy of the music.

TYL ‘21, Art Education

Hi there,

My name is Kristen Blunt and I am an emerging art educator based in Philadelphia. I enjoy reading, playing the ukulele, and being outside gardening or hiking with friends, family, and my dog, Tessa. Art making has always been healing and empowering for me and provides a constant source of joy in my life. For this reason, I am dedicated to creating a safe and supportive learning environment for others to express and nurture themselves through art.
