Lesson Plan #2: 3rd and 4th Grade Puppets

The third/fourth graders have been looking at artists living in Pennsylvania. For this project we looked at puppeteer Cheryl Capezzuti, who creates massive puppets that parade around Pittsburgh. Students were given paper and popsicle sticks to make their puppets and individually created their own backgrounds. They then “paraded” across the screen or held a short puppet show bringing their artwork to life!
