We find ourselves on the precipice of societal chaos and destruction. In my past experience I've found myself living in blissful ignorance. I constructed barriers to better ignore the racial injustices that were happening around me simply because it was easier that way. I've come to the realization that I can't go on pretending any longer. The phrase "hear no evil, speak no evil" is at the center of this film. In the Western world, the proverb is often used to refer to a lack of moral responsibility on the part of people who look the other way on evil deeds. I hope to give others this same realization. That they can remove their rose colored glasses and break down the barriers they have built to protect themselves from the hard truth. They can acknowledge their own white privilege and stop perpetuating racial injustices. Just because you chose not to look doesn't mean that the pain and suffering of others doesn't exist. Eventually we all come to the point when we have to turn around and face the monster we've been running from. Face our own whiteness and lack of responsibility.
